  • Day 1: Panama City, Panama
    Upon arrival in Panama City, transfer to your hotel for leisure or rest.
  • Day 2: Panama City
    Today you will start with a visit to the ruins of Panama’s first capital, known as Old Panama or Panama La Vieja. This city was founded in 1519. But the whole city was destroyed by fire in 1671 and the ruins of several impressive structures remain to this day. Later, we proceed to the Panama Camal, where you will see many ships passing through. (B, L)
  • Day 3: Panama City ~ Guatemala City, Guatemala
    Morning transfer to the Gamboa Rainforest Resort Area to take the Gatun Expedition boat tour. The boat tour takes you through the Panama Canal into secret waterways to find hidden islands that are home to various species such as the Capuchin Monkeys, crocodiles, iguanas, turtles, sloth, and a large variety of birds and to Gatun Lake, one of the biggest artificial lakes in the world. This tour is ideal for nature lovers who will be charmed with the aquatic life. Then, we transfer to the airport for your evening flight to Guatemala City. Upon arrival, transfer to the hotel and check in. (B, L)
  • Day 4: Guatemala City ~ Antigua
    First, we will visit Las Americas Ave, named after the formation of the Organization of American States on April 30th, 1948. We continue on to the Civic Center of the City, a set of government buildings constructed between the 1950's and 60's. Next, we continue to the Major Plaza of the Constitution. This square is the heart of the Historic Center surrounded by important monuments such as the National Palace. Later, we will stop at the Central Market. There you can buy a variety of art and handicrafts: ceramics, textiles, leather, wood, and silver. Later, we will head to the charming Spanish colonial city of Antigua. (B, L)
  • Day 5: Antigua
    Antigua means "old" in Spanish and is renowned for its Spanish colonial buildings, many of them restored following a 1773 earthquake that ended Antigua's 200-year reign as Guatemala's colonial capital. The tour visits the Main Square, Palace, Cathedral, and La Merced Church / San Francisco Churches. After lunch, head out to visit the quaint small towns of San Antonio Aguas Calientes, known for its traditional weavers, and Ciudad Vieja, Jocotenango. (B, L)
  • Day 6: Antigua ~ Atitlan  
    Morning, transfer to the Lake Atitlan region in the Guatemalan Highlands of the Sierra Madre mountain range. Here you will take a scenic 30 minutes boat ride to San Juan La Laguna village where you will observe women at work hand-weaving and performing a natural dye process. Also you will have visit to the studios and homes of the celebrated "naif" painters. Later on, we will go see an effigy of the Mayan god "Maximon". Finally travel to Panajachel and check in at our lakeside lodgings. (B, L, D)
  • Day 7: Atitlan ~ Guatemala City
    Today, we will visit Xela. This city and the surrounding region is well-known for its Mayan villages, its beautiful landscapes, hot springs, valleys, and strong cultural traditions. We will make panoramic city tour of Xela for you to get a feel for Guatemala's second largest city and then we shall explore the indigenous village of Zunil. In Zunil, you will see the native people wearing attractive colorful clothing made by traditional backstrap looms with techniques passed down from generation to generation. Return to Guatemala City for overnight. (B, L, D)
  • Day 8: Guatemala City ~ Home
    Today, you will be transferred to the airport for your flight back home as your trip comes to an end. (B)
