  • Day 1: Home ~ Taiyuan, China
    Depart your home city for Taiyuan, China.
  • Day 2: Taiyuan, China
    Upon arrival in Taiyuan, transfer to the hotel and check in. The remainder of the day will be at your own leisure to enjoy.
  • Day 3: Taiyuan ~ Datong
    After breakfast, coach to Datong to visit the Yungang Grottoes. The Yungang Grottoes has survived more than 1500 years. It was one of the largest caves and was also known as China’s four grottoes art treasure. The grottoes stretch for a whole kilometer from east to west. Many of the carvings combine traditional Chinese art forms with foreign influences to create a unique style that occupies an important position in the history of Chinese art. Then, coach to the Nine-Dragon Screen, the largest screen of its type in China, which is 45.5 meters(150 feet) long,8 meters(26 feet) high and 2.02(6.6 feet) meters thick and consists of 426 pieces of glazed tiles.

  • Day 4: Datong ~ Mt. Wutai
    In the morning, coach to Hanging Temple, located at the foot of Mt. Hengshan. Surviving more than 1400 years, hanging temples that mix mechanics, aesthetics, and Buddhism are rare. After lunch, we will visit Mount Wutai. Legend says that a manjusri (Bodhisattva of wisdom) visited Mt. Wutai and decided to stay. In addition to its religious aspects, the beauty of rising and falling ridges of mountains, exotic rocks, crystalline waters and towering green forests also gives Mt. Wutai its reputation as a colorful and notable tourist resort. After, visit Xiantong Temple, one of the oldest and most prestigious temples in the mountain. Then, pay a visit to The Tayuan Temple, Summit Bodhisattva and taste the vegetarian meal in Mt.Wutai.

  • Day 5: Mt. Wutai ~ Pingyao
    After breakfast, coach to Pingyao to visit the Pingyao Ancient City. With over 2700 years of history, it is also an outstanding model of the Han nationality in the Ming and Qing dynasties. Due to the preservation of architecture built in the Ming and Qing Dynasties, the city was listed as a world cultural Heritage Site by UNESCO in 1997. The ancient Ming and Qing streets are the best places to explore ancient Chinese culture. Afterwards, pay a visit to Foguang Temple, a temple with a very long history. The Buddhism cultural relics in the temple are so precious that it is also called the Asian Buddhist Halo. (B, L, D)
  • Day 6: Pingyayo ~ Lingshi
    In the morning, coach to visit the Wang’s Compound, built during the Ming and Qing Dynasties. The building extended over an area of 31,956 square meters (7.9 acres), four times the size of the Qiao Compand. The compound is the epitome of Oriental domestic architecture. Today, you will also visit the Houtu Temple and take part in paper-cutting, a traditional handicraft in Shanxi, China. Houtu Temple is a key cultural relics site under the state protection. (B, L)
  • Day 7: Linshi ~ Hukou
    After breakfast, coach to visit the Hukou Waterfall, the largest waterfall in the Yellow River. The water surface of the Yellow River is 300 meters wide at the upper reaches of the waterfall. (B, L, D)
  • Day 8: Hukou ~ Huangdiling ~ Xian
    After breakfast, head to the Mausoleum of the Yellow Emperor, the burial site of the legendary Yellow Emperor of China and an important ancient grave site in China. After many years of development and construction, it became not only a mausoleum but a key point of interest for historical Chinese culture. The main sights in this scenic spot are the Mausoleum of the Yellow Emperor and the Xuanyuan Temple. (B, L)
  • Day 9: Xian
    Today's excursion will take you to the Museum of the Terracotta Warriors and Horses (UNESCO), one of the greatest archaeological discoveries in the world. Also known as "the eighth wonder of the world," more than 6000 life-sized terra cotta warriors, archers, infantrymen, horses and bronze chariots silently guard the tomb of China's First Emperor for over 2,200 years. Then, stop at the Terracotta replica factory. After, visit the Shu Yuan Men (Ancient Culture Street). Next, head to the Muslim's Quarter. Just as its name implies, the Muslim's Quarter is the hub of the Muslim community in Xian City.
