  • Day 1: Lima, Peru
Upon your arrival in Lima, a transportation service will transfer you from the airport to your hotel. (Includes the assistance of an English representative)
  • Day 2: Lima
You will be transferred from your hotel to the producers market of San Isidro, where today´s culinary experience begins. There, you will discover its stands and main ingredients used in Peruvian cooking, accompanied by a Peruvian chef. Then you will be transferred to Urban Kitchen to be part of a participatory cooking lesson where a chef will demonstrate dishes from our country. After this fun experience, you will enjoy the delicious dishes prepared in class. After that you will return to the hotel. Later this evening, you will transferred to the Larco Museum, located in the Pueblo Libre district, where you will enjoy a tasting menu dinner amidst the most sumptuous collection of pre-Hispanic jewelry. Founded by Rafael Larco Hoyle in 1926, the museum is located inside a viceregal mansion built on a pre-Columbian pyramid of the 7th century, houses the most complete pre-Hispanic collection of gold and silver artifacts as well pieces of erotic art. You will be transferred back to your hotel after dinner.  (B,  D)
  • Day 3: Lima ~ Cusco ~ Urubamba
Fly to Cusco and start your tour in Awanakancha, an exhibition center of textiles and South American camelids located at kilometer 23 of the road to Pisac. It is considered a living museum and here you can see Andean camelids, learn about the techniques to take their wool and finally acquire finely spun garments. You will then visit the Pisac market, consisting of dozens of stalls displaying and selling goods crafted by residents of the area. You can find textiles, carvings, and replicas of ancient Inca pieces. Free time to visit the area on your own. Then you will be transferred to the new and impressive Inkariy museum, which presents a new vision of the pre-Hispanic cultures of ancient Peru through dioramas that recreate iconic scenes composed of hyper realistic characters, reflecting the native man with the clothing and ornamentation specific to each era. Once you finish the tour, you will stop at Muña restaurant where you will try a traditional Cuzquenian lunch.  (B, L)
  • Day 4: Urubamba
You will begin your trip visiting the archaeological vestiges of Maras and Moray. Maras is an impressive salt mine complex. These are huge salt deposits that were exchanged for other products from other parts of the empire.  Moray's archaeological vestiges are composed of mysterious concentric circular terraces which, according to some scholars, would be an agricultural research center. Then visit a distillery which houses a beautiful hand-hammered copper alembic which has come from Portugal to Ollantaytambo. Through careful management of temperature, the cuts and distillation, here we process the sugar cane produced by selected producers of Cusco and Apurimac, from sweet cane grown in the heights and irrigated with water from the glaciers that feed the Amazon. Enjoy a welcome cocktail before tasting a delicious Pachamanca lunch, savor the roots of the Andean culture. Then continue the trip to the Ollantaytambo Park, stopping at various points of interest along the route. Ollantaytambo is a typical example of the urban planning of the Incas, whose residents still live in accordance with their old traditions. Pachacútec (1438-1471) conquered the town, destroyed it and built a new one, absorbing it as part of his empire, and it is currently considered one of the most remarkable archaeological complexes of the Inca Empire. Then you will be transferred back to your hotel at Sacred Valley.  (B, L)
  • Day 5: Urubamba ~ Aguas Calientes ~ Cusco
A transportation service will pick you up from your hotel in Urubamba to Ollantaytambo station. It will wait for your return from Aguas Calientes to take you back to your hotel in Cusco. Your tour to Machu Picchu begins with a train ride to Aguas Calientes in approximately two hours. This town is also known as "Machu Picchu Pueblo" and is the last stop before the entrance to the remains of the most important archaeological site in Peru. In Aguas Calientes you will find the railway station, a crafts market, restaurants and accommodation of different categories for those who prefer to spend the night at the foot of the mountain and climb it early. Finally, after a short transfer you will reach Machu Picchu, a masterpiece of engineering and architecture that is believed served as a sanctuary and retreat for the Inca Pachacutec (1438 - 1572). Machu Picchu, which means "Old Mountain", is considered a World Heritage by UNESCO and one of the new Seven Wonders of the World. Enjoy a delicious lunch at Belmond Sanctuary Lodge. In the afternoon return by train.  (B, L)
  • Day 6: Cusco
This morning the tour starts at Sacsayhuaman, one of the most emblematic constructions of the Incas (located just minutes from the city, it is a World Cultural Heritage Site listed by UNESCO) built by Pachacutec in the 15th century. It is a huge fortress made of large stones which transportation is still a mystery. Return to the city to continue your tour along the San Blas neighborhood, originally inhabited by the Inca nobility who built impressive stone constructions within walking distance of the Plaza de Armas. Unmistakable Inca walls can still be seen at the base of many buildings. Today the neighborhood is a delightful cluster of cobblestone streets popular among artisans who sell their handcrafts on the street. Continue to the cathedral. This is the most impressive monument in the Plaza de Armas. Its construction began in 1560 and ended only in 1654. It took nearly a century to complete. The tour ends at the Coricancha also known as "The Temple of the Sun"(or Quri Kancha 'Golden Temple'). In the afternoon, visit the Coffee Museum, where you will have an introduction to the history of coffee and its importance in Peru. Learn the production process, different kinds of coffee beans and finally prepare and taste coffee according to different methods of extraction. The tour continues in ´ChocoMuseo´, there you will know the process of cultivation and harvesting based on the renowned cacao of the Peruvian jungle. You will learn and participate in the process of roasting, peeling and grinding and will create a cacao-based drink as well as a chocolate with your own style in a mold of your choice. Finally, you will head to the ´Republica del Pisco´, where you will have an introduction to the history and international influence of the national distillate, also know about the Pisco grape and its process of transformation. The tour would not be complete without a tasting of Pisco, so, accompanied by a taster, you will try and enjoy different aromas of different brands accompanied by typical Peruvian dishes where you will experience characteristic textures, flavors and sensations of Peru.  (B)
