  • Day 1: Lima, Peru
    A transportation service awaits your arrival at the Lima airport to transfer you to your hotel. On the way, you will be accompanied by a guide who will inform you about the attractions the city has to offer and assist you along the way.
  • Day 2: Lima, Peru
    Explore Lima old town, a UNESCO World Heritage Site packed with fascinating historic buildings. Start with a scenic tour in the colonial downtown, which radiates from the Main Square, where you can appreciate the grandiose architecture of the Spanish Empire. Stroll over to the Cathedral, which was begun in the 16th century and took 80 years to build. Then visit the Casa Aliaga, a colonial mansion granted in 1535 by chief conquistador Francisco Pizarro to Jerónimo de Aliaga, one of his captains. This is the only house from that time that still belongs to the same family after all these centuries. Continue to the Larco Museum, located in the traditional Pueblo Libre district, which is housed in a beautifully restored viceregal mansion built on a seventh-century a pre-Columbian pyramid. The museum boasts the most complete pre-Hispanic collection of gold and silver artefacts, as well as pieces of erotic art. Finally, head to the "Love Park" in the upscale coastal district of Miraflores, where you can admire the cliffs and a spectacular view of the Pacific Ocean. (B)
  • Day 3: Lima ~ Iquitos ~ Boarding the Amazon Star
    A transportation service will pick you up from your hotel at the established time and will transfer you to the airport of Lima (Includes the assistance of an English speaking representative). A representative will assist you at the airport. Fly to Iquitos (airfare not included)
    Fly to Iquitos (recommended flight time 10:10Aam). Once in Iquitos, a private car awaits to take you to the Explorama port where you will board the Amazon Star. Hear an orientation and safety briefing before you start sailing down the Amazon River, departing from the city of Iquitos, located in the northeast of the Peruvian jungle. In the evening, enjoy a welcome dinner and a briefing on tomorrow’s events. (B, L, D)
  • Day 4: Amazon River
    Early in the morning, head to the bar deck for an optional bird watching activity. Peru holds the second greatest number of bird species in the world and the Amazon is home to the majority of them. After breakfast, venture out on a boat exploration along the Amazon to view local vegetation and wildlife. On your return, hear an overview of the activities available during the voyage and then enjoy a nice lunch. Later, go on a boat exploration on the Yarapa River, a natural reserve protected by a local community. Finally, have dinner and participate in tomorrow’s briefing.. (B, L, D)
  • Day 5: Amazon: Yanallpa ~ Dorado Creek
    Begin your day with an optional bird-watching activity from the bar deck. Today you will visit Yanallpa, a beautiful creek near the Ucayali River. After breakfast, visit a school and a local village to learn about the culture of the Amazon’s inhabitants. You can also buy beautiful handmade crafts and help the sustainability of the community. After lunch, a naturalist will give a talk on the Pacaya Samiria National Reserve. Go fishing for piran hasin the afternoon and enjoy a night trip on the Dorado Creek where you will be able to observe nocturnal animals come to life. Later, have dinner and participate in tomorrow’s briefing. (B, L, D)
  • Day 6: Amazon: Pacaya River ~ Yuracocha Lake
    This morning get a nearly wake-up call at 06:00hrsfor breakfast to then depart on a boat exploration along the Pacaya River to search for red howler monkeys and other species of primates that inhabit the area. After lunch, a naturalist will provide an interesting lecture on the source of the Amazon River. The next boat exploration will take you to Yuracocha Lake to see beautiful giant water lilies. Later, have dinner and participate in tomorrow’s briefing. (B, L, D)
  • Day 7: Amazon: Pacaya River ~ San Jose De Paranapura Village
    Have breakfast early this morning and then go on a boat exploration to the Supay Creek where we will search for the incredibly tiny pygmy marmoset, a peculiar species of primate that inhabit the area, sometimes nicknamed the ‘smallest monkey in the world’. Then, participate in an Amazon tales talk where you will learn some traditional stories from the heart of the Amazon. After lunch, we visit a shaman at San Jose de Paranapura village, where a traditional ritual will be performed. We will return at around 17:00 hrs to admire the Amazon sunset, one of the most impressive sunsets in the world, near the confluence of the Ucayali and Marañon rivers. Later, dinner is served, then hear tomorrow’s briefing. (B, L, D)
  • Day 8: Amazon River ~ Lima ~ Home 
    Wake-up call at 04:00 hrs in the morning. Breakfast will be served at 04:15hrs and you will disembark the ship via Nauta city by 05:00 hrs. A transportation service will be waiting for you to take you to the airport to catch your flight to your next destination. Fly to Lima. (B)
