  • Day 2: Hong Kong
The morning will be at your own leisure to enjoy. In the afternoon, take a half day walking tour of the city and get to know the "inside" of Hong Kong's history and present day identity. Make your own way to the Sheung Wan MTR station to meet your tour guide. Follow the trail of traditional Hong Kong street stops as you make your way to Hollywood Road, the centre of Chinese antiques trading, selling everything from Ming vases to Han Dynasty war horse potteries. As you venture further into Hong Kong's market history, visit Cat Street, originally home to the city's black market, now an open-air curio market. Head into Tai Ping Shan, the shops and galleries are new and contemporary. The combination of European style influences and traditional Hong Kong streetscapes has created some fascinating neighbourhoods in SoHo and No Ho, providing a unique narrative and local experience. A highlight of the tour will no doubt be a visit to the newly opened PMQ; the former Police Married Quarters has been transformed into the designer hub of the city. Take a break of walking and catch a ride up the iconic 800 metre long Central Mid Levels Escalators, the world's longest outdoor escalator system. As you make way to Central, see the central business district of the city dominated by modern skyscrapers that represent Hong Kong's new life of riches. The tour will disband at the Central MTR station. Return to the hotel on your own arrangement or continue to explore the city. (B)
  • Day 3: Hong Kong
This morning, join a half day walking food tour and learn why Hong Kong has a reputation of "food heaven" of Asia. (*** All food cost from the tour is included. Any additional food items or drinks are not included and will be on own expense) Make your own way to the Sheung Wan to meet your tour guide. Start the day with a traditional Dim Sum breakfast in an old teahouse and find yourself sampling the most authentic Dim Sum available in Hong Kong. Continue to a family run Wonton Noodle Shop that dates back to the 1960s. Wonton noodles are a local food specialty, a simple dish but one that only a true master can perfect. Take a tea break and try a cup of Milk Tea, perhaps the most pervasive legacy of British rule. Travel by tram (*** Tram fee not included) to another family run restaurant, which dates back to the Qing Dynasty (pre 1900's) and is renowned for it Roasted Meat. Finish the tour with another Hong Kong favorite, Egg Tart. The bakery you will visit has a long history in Hong Kong, 60 years, and is a personal favorite of former Hong Kong Governer Chris Patten. The tour will disband at the Wan Chai. Make your own way to Prince Edward MTR for the 2nd part of your Hong Kong tour.

In the afternoon, take a half day market walking tour and get the lowdown on all the market action and also learn why Hong Kong is also known as a "shopping heaven". Meet your tour guide at the Price Edward MTR Station. Start the tour off a fragrant note at the Flower market. It's the perfect introduction to the markets in Kowloon. Onto the nearby Yuen Po Street Bird Garden, a charming Chinese-style garden with songbird stalls, and soak up the peaceful surroundings and listen to the charming sound of thousands of birds. Time to practice your bargaining skills at a popular Mong Kok local street market where vendors sell bargain-priced clothes, bags, and accessories. On Shanghai Street, you will have the chance to glimpse what 1950s and 60s Hong Kong was like. It was once famous for selling everything from traditional wedding clothes to ancestral offerings, and it's here that you'll head into the Yau Ma Tei Fruit Market, a century old wholesale market that sells exotic fruits from all over the world. From there, you'll also call by the world famous Jade Market, which has more than 400 hawkers, and learn aout how locals believe jade can ward off health hazards and bad feng shui. The final stop is a visit to Temple Street. See the city's working class culture first hand as you admire the Sea Goddess Temple and the Yau Ma Tei Public Plaza, where people like to spend a lazy afternoon under the beautiful Chinese Banyan trees. The tour will disband at the Temple Street Night Market. Return to the hotel on your own arrangement or continue to explore the city. (B)

Then, proceed to Macau Tower for another photo stop (entrance is optional, admission not included). The tower is 338 meters high and ranks as the 11th highest in the world. Visit The A-Ma Temple, a graceful chapel built in 1488, dedicated to the Goddess of Seafarers and the Matsu Fishermen.  Then, head to St. Paul’s Ruins, the ruins of an early 16th century church designed by Italians and built by Japanese Christian exiles. You will take a walking tour down St. Paul’s Way to the city center, past furniture shops and factory outlets (for some shopping, if time permits).
