  • Day 1: Tokyo, Japan
    Upon arrival in Tokyo, transfer (included) to the hotel by limousine bus and self check in. The remainder of the day will be at your own leisure to enjoy.
  • Day 2: Tokyo
    After breakfast, you will be picked up at your hotel and start your vacation with a visit to Meiji Shrine, built in dedication to Emperor Meiji and Empress Shoken. After the original shrine was destroyed during World War II, the current one was re-built in 1958. This area is covered by an evergreen forest that consists of 120,000 trees of 365 different species, donated by people from all parts of Japan when the shrine was established. After, visit the Imperial Palace of Tokyo – the residence of the royal family – and visit the “double bridge” (Nijubashi) over the moat. Next, stop by the Senso-ji, an ancient Buddhist temple known as Tokyo’s oldest and most significant temple. Next, enjoy some time at Nakamise-dori, a street on the approach to the temple housing many traditional shops for souvenirs.
    After eating lunch, enjoy a delightful Tokyo Bay Cruise to take in some of the most romantic sights the metropolitan city has to offer. Lastly, spend time in Odaiba, a popular man made island in Tokyo Bay filled with shopping, dining and leisure. Originally made as a fort during the Edo Period to protect Tokyo, the island has been turn into a popular tourist attraction with incredible selection of entertainment options. When the tour is over, head back to hotel on your own expense.  (B, L)
  • Day 3: Tokyo ~ Kamakura ~ Tokyo
    After breakfast, find your own way to the meeting point of Hamamatshucho Bus Terminal to start your tour to Kamakura, a captivating city full of historic treasures. The small city is popular for its unique temples and tranquil atmosphere. Highlights of the city tour include the Jomyo-ji, Hokoku and Kotoku temples. In the Jomyo-ji, you can enjoy some of Japan’s famous matcha green tea in the tranquil team room made 400 years ago. After lunch, visit Enoshima, a small island west of Kamakura filled with a variety of attractions, shrines and parks.  After the bus arrives back in Shinjuku, head back to the hotel on your own.  (B, L)
  • Day 4: Tokyo
    Today, enjoy a free day to explore and enjoy the many attractions Tokyo has to offer. Perhaps, you can visit a traditional tea house, discover culture and history at a museum or treat yourself at Tokyo’s cutting-edge stores.  (B)
    Optional Tour: Mt. Fuji Tour
  • Day 5: Tokyo ~ Kyoto
    Today, you will transfer yourself and take a train to Kyoto, the former capital of Japan filled with priceless historical structures. Arrive in Kyoto and make your own way to the hotel for self check in.  (B)
  • Day 6: Kyoto
    After breakfast, you will be picked up at your hotel and start your vacation with a visit to a UNESCO World Heritage site, the Nijo Jo Castle. It also served as the imperial palace until it became a public historic site. Then head to Kinakuji Castle, also known as the Golden Pavilion. The temple offers a stunning view over a large pond. Next, visit the Kyoto Imperial Palace, the former residence of the Imperial Family until 1868. Enjoy a Japanese/ Western buffet for lunch.
    After lunch, head to the Heian Jingu, a shrine built to celebrate the 1100th anniversary of Kyoto. Then, stop by the Sanjusangendo Hall, filled with 1001 statues of Kannon, the goddess of mercy. It is also currently Japan’s longest wooden structure. Lastly, before being dropped off at your hotel, visit  Kiyozumi dera, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Although it was founded in 778, its present buildings were constructed in 1633 under Tokugawa Iemitsu's orders. There is not a single nail used in the entire structure.  (B, L)
  • Day 7: Kyoto
    Today, enjoy a free day to explore and enjoy the many attractions Kyoto has to offer.  (B)
    Optional Tour: Afternoon Nara Tour

  • Day 8: Kyoto ~ Tokyo 
    Today, enjoy a day learning about sake, Japan's traditional rice wine. After breakfast, make your own way to the Kyoto Station meeting point and head to the Momoyamagoryo-Mae Station, located a couple of blocks from the Fushimi Sake District. Take a walk down Fushimi Sake District lined with traditional sake breweries. It is also popular for the clean and soft water that flows through its underground springs. Within the district, take a tour within the Gekkeikan Okura Sake Museum. Enjoy a Japanese sake tasting experience. Then, head to the beautiful Fushimi Inari Taisha Shrine, famous for thousands of toril gates that lead to the main structures.  When the tour ends, head back to the hotel on your own expense. End your day in Kyoto by making your way to the train station for your Tokyo transfer. Once in Tokyo, transfer yourself to the hotel on your own and self check in.  (B)
  • Day 9: Tokyo ~ Home
     After breakfast, the tour guide will assist you with taking the airport shuttle to the airport for your flight back home as your trip comes to an end.  (B)

* On Day 8, you can leave luggage at hotel concierge in Kyoto for same day afternoon pick up.
* If any of the attractions are closed due to unforeseen circumstances, we will visit other major attractions located near the area. 
* At several points of the tour, you will need to make your own way to the meeting points for tour pick ups. We will provide clear and detailed instructions on pick up points with your travel documents.

  • Washington Shinjuku Hotel – Tokyo, Japan * or similar
    2-9 Nishishinjuku, 3 Chome, Shinjuku-ku

    Located in the central Shinjuku neighborhood, this hotel is 0.3 km from the Tokyo Metropolitan Government Building, 0.7 km from Tokyo Opera City Concert Hall, and 0.9 km from Takashimaya Times Square.

    The Shinjuku Washington Hotel features 15 restaurants including a bar/lounge, a relaxation room with free WiFi and massage chairs, and a 24-hour convenience store.

    All guestrooms feature satellite TVs with pay movies, telephones, complimentary high-speed Internet access, and refrigerators. Private bathrooms are outfitted with slippers, and makeup/shaving mirrors.

    This central Kyoto hotel is a 2-minute walk from a subway station and within 1.6 km (1 mile) of Kyoto International Manga Museum, Higashi Honganji Temple, Gion Corner, Nijo Castle, and Kyoto Tower.

    The hotel's Chinese restaurant serves lunch and dinner. A Starbucks is just off the lobby. A bar is open till late night. Karasuma Kyoto Hotel also offers business services and secure parking.

    Guestrooms include complimentary WiFi and wired Internet access, slippers, a full array of bath amenities, and satellite TV. Guests can watch up to 150 in-room movies for a single fee.
