  • Day 1: Beijing, China    
    Upon arriving in Beijing today, you will be greeted at the airport and transferred to the hotel, for self check-in.
  • Day 2: Beijing
    In the morning, visit the Juyon Pass of  the famous Great Wall of China, listed as World UNESCO Heritage Site in 1987. Enjoy a walk on the wall, seeing the beautiful rugged mountain scenery and the fort and perimeter wall that have been restored to their original glory. Later, head to the Olympic Park where the 2008 Beijing Olympic Games took place. The park houses ten venues including the Olympic Village, and other supporting facilities. See the Bird's Nest, the National Stadium, which is situated in Olympic Green Village. Transfer back to the hotel and the remaining of the day will be yours to enjoy or opt for an optional tour.   • Day 4: Beijing ~ Nanjing
    Take a high-speed train to Nanjing. On arrival, visit the Taicheng Wall. The city wall is one of the key historical and cultural remains of Ming Dynasty under state protection. It is a masterpiece of China's ancient architecture. Afterward, visit the Confucius Temple, dedicated to worshiping China’s most influential philosopher, Confucius. Originally, the temple was constructed in the year of 1034 in the Song Dynasty (420-589). It suffered repeated damage and has been rebuilt on several occasions since that time. The grounds offer an enticing sight of one of the longest screen walls and the largest statue of Confucius in China. Find radiant displays of gold, jade, silver and bronze illustrating the philosopher’s life. Take a break to explore the area around Nanjing Confucius Temple and stop by a series of tourist shops, snack bars, restaurants and tea cafes built in the Ming and Qing architectural styles. (B)
  • Day 5: Nanjing ~ Yangzhou
    In the morning, visit the Niushou Mountain, containing a cultural park dedicated to displaying and preserving the mountain’s cultural treasures that date back centuries. Discover beautiful sceneries that exhibit priceless cultural artifacts surrounded in lush greenery. Afterward, continue to Yangzhou and check in at the hotel upon arrival. (B, L)

  • Day 6: Yangzhou ~ Suzhou
    This morning, start your day with a visit to the Slender West Lake, the heart and soul of Yangzhou. Slender West Lake is a man-made lake where beautiful views and historic points coexist. The lake is filled with beautiful attractions such as its popular Rainbow Bridge, White Pagoda and vibrant lush gardens. Afterwards, continue to visit Yangzhou 486 Intangible Cultural Heritages Center to learn and experience authentic traditional art forms originating from the city such as block printing, sugar blowing, paper-cutting and embroidery. Continue to the Dongguan Street, where more than 50 celebrities’ residences, mansions, temples and gardens are scattered throughout. Stop by the Ge Garden, Yangzhou’s most iconic garden. In the late afternoon, head to Li Gon Di Causeway. Using several bridges connecting small islands, painted in grey, white and black, and built in traditional Suzhou architectural style, Li Gong Di Causeway shows the south China water town features. It is a corridor clustered by restaurants from all over the world.  (B, D)
  • Day 7: Suzhou ~ Shanghai
    In the morning, visit the Lingering Garden. one of the four most famous gardens in China. Demonstrating the Qing style, it is well known for the exquisite beauty of its magnificent halls and the various sizes, shapes, and colors of the buildings. Afterward, continue your trip to Shanghai. On arrival, visit Xintiandi. With its unique concept of construction, it retains its antique walls, tiles and exterior of the Shikumen housing of old Shanghai. Here you can enjoy an international gallery, bars, cafes, boutiques and theme restaurants. When you walk into the district, you will get the taste of both Shanghai in the 1920's and the 21st century urban lifestyle. Afterward, head to Nanjing Road, China's premier shopping street. Today, it is a must-see metropolitan destination attracting thousands of fashion-seeking shoppers from all over the world.  (B, L)

Frequently Asked Questions

  1. What is the group size of this tour?
    Tourist from all over the world join this tour and it can vary from 4 passengers to 45 passengers. Our China tours are suitable for families, kids, seniors.
  2. What kind of tour is this?
    This is an Escorted Group Tour by coach. This guided tour features the highlights of certain cities in a brief visit.
  3. Does this tour include any flights?
    Land Only packages only include domestic flights within one country. International and Inter-Asia flights are not included.
  4. What if I don’t want to join the tour some days or only join for half a day?
    Due to this is a group tour, you will need to follow the group for the entire program and cannot deviate. Any deviation will result in a penalty at the discretion of the local office.
  5. Is there a luggage limit?
    The luggage allowed for each passenger on our Group tours is limited to one piece of a maximum of 66lbs (note airlines and trains have their own limits, normally lower). We may refuse to accept excessively bulky luggage.
  6. Will someone help me with my luggage?
    Porterage is not included and you are responsible to handle your own luggage at all times.
  7. What mode of transportation will be used?
    This tour will use a Coach unless specifically stated.
  8. Will the bus have toilets?
    China Group tours will not have toilets in the bus.
  9. Are the tours wheelchair friendly?
    Our coaches are not equipped with access ramps for wheelchairs.
  10. What do I do if I want to extend my stay?
    Contact us and let us know if you want pre or post and how many days.
  11. How long is the duration of tour?
    A full day of tour is scheduled from around 8am to 7pm
  12. Can three guests stay in the same room?
    Yes, they can. Hotel rooms in China tend to be international standard. It may be a fold out bed or sofa bed. We would suggest this for families travelling with a child.
  13. Can we change the meal plan?
    Charming Travel Destinations offers vegetarian meal options for travelers. Regrettably, we cannot accommodate certain food options in China like Gluten Free or Halal during Group tours. For private tours, we can accommodate anything, but for this group tour we cannot. Please inquire if you have any allergies we need to know about.
  14. What information do I need to provide to book?
    Please provide legal names, email address, phone number, mailing address, number of rooms (single-triple occupancy), travel insurance preference, birth dates, and passport information.
  15. Do I need a visa to visit ?
    US and Canada passport holders need a visa to visit China. All else, please contact us to check.
  16. How much is the deposit to reserve a spot in the tour?
    For Land Only, the deposit is $300USD. For Land + Air packages, the deposit will be 50% of overall tour price
  17. Are there gratuities included? If not included, how much?
    Gratuities are not included and we suggest the equivalence of $10USD in country currency or USD per person per day.
  18. When should I expect to receive my travel documents and confirmations?
    Travel Documents and Hotel confirmations will be emailed out 1 week before arrival.
  19. What time can we check-in or out?
    The hotel check in is usually about 2pm and check out is 10am. If you want your room to be available for more time, consider booking an extra night.
  20. Are airport transfers included?
    Airport transfers are included in China. This service is subject to limitations such as hour, airport terminal and as stated on the itinerary.
  21. Are the hotels listed the exact ones we will get?
    Final hotel confirmation will not be available until 1 week prior to departure. Hotels may be confirmed at any of the hotels listed or at similar properties.
