Our staff member Jean Leong just came back from Turkey last week and was there during the protest in Instanbul and Ankara. Not only didn’t she see anything when touring by herself in the capital or in Ankara, but she came back saying the people from Turkey were the friendliest from all her travels. While in Turkey, she decided to be adventurous and took a last minute ride on a Hot Air Balloon in Cappadocia. The day of the hot air balloon ride in Cappadocia she had to wake up at 4 am and wasn’t so excited about the early call, however, once she saw the amazingly, breathtaking site of all the colorful balloons in the skies, she quickly realized waking up at 4am was the right call. Earlier she had been a bit hesitant of experiencing the balloon ride because they had just recently had an accident just 2 weeks prior to her arrival, but Jean is a trooper and she knew it was an opportunity too hard to pass by. Very enthusiastically she convinced herself to still take the ride by thinking, ‘An accident is an accident whether you are in a hot air balloon or in a car or in a plane, right?” Below are the amazing views she got from below and while she was in the air.
